Our Day

Finch Nest Preschool has sessions available for children from 1 to 5 years old. We are open from Monday to Friday, from 7:30am - 6pm, providing wrap around care for 48 weeks of the year.

 

At Finch Nest Preschool our day is structured into the following key sessions:

 

Breakfast club: 07.30am - 9.00am (breakfast will be provided)

 

Morning Session: Preschool: 9am - 1pm (hot lunch included)

​

Afternoon Session: Preschool: 1pm - 3pm 

​

Late collection option: 3pm - 4pm

 

After school club: 3pm - 6pm (a tea will be provided)

​

A healthy snack, milk and water will be provided for the children daily.

Amy
BA(Hons)

Director & Manager

Amy is a qualified teacher with 17 years experience, specialising in the Early Years Foundation Stage. She has been a Deputy Headteacher and acted in an advisory role for other early years settings.
 

An expert in phonics teaching, Amy is passionate about early childhood development and provides the children with an education that is centred on nurture and care. Creating an environment that is engaging, fun and child-led is important to Amy and her warm smile and caring nature allow all children to settle quickly and feel valued.

Daniel
BA(Hons) NPQH

Director, Deputy Manager & SENDCo

Daniel is a qualified teacher with 12 years experience and has been Head of a Primary School. Daniel is passionate about creating an accessible curriculum that comes to life for children in his care. He especially enjoys the outdoor learning environment, and engaging in Maths, Music and Physical Education,
activities and play.


Ensuring individual needs are being met is important to Daniel who works closely with the children and their families to achieve the best outcomes. His approachable and friendly nature, helps others to feel reassured.

Becca
Level 3

Chicks Room Leader

Becca is a Level 3 qualified nursery nurse with many years of experience in childcare.  Becca's dedication and passion for nurturing young minds shines through in her enthusiastic and caring approach.

As a mother of three, Becca deeply understands the importance of a supportive and engaging learning environment.  Her experiences as a parent compliment her professional skills, making her exceptionally adept at encouraging children to explore and learn through play.

​

Becca is excited by building relationships with the families and children at Finch Nest Preschool and enjoys ensuring every year is filled with fun, laughter and plenty of learning opportunities.

Dulcie
Level 3

Practitioner


 

I am a Level 3 Teaching Assistant who has experienced a range of age groups from Nursery all the way up to Year 6.

Especially working with SEND, supporting and leading speech and language interventions.

 

I find myself to be a kind and nurturing person. I absolutely love watching children flourish and grow into their own people and being able to guide them on their journey is incredible. I enjoy learning through play and lots of outdoor activities.

 

I am extremely passionate about working with young children and being able to help and guide them on their education and development journey.

Nicola
Level 4

Practitioner

Nicola is a Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner with 13 years of experience. Nicola has developed a strong and passionate commitment to supporting young children through the most important stages of their development. Beginning her career as an apprentice, she has progressed through every stage of the sector, gaining hands-on experience with all age groups and building a deep understanding of children’s individual needs. This journey has led her into management, where she has been able to lead, support, and inspire teams while maintaining a child-centred approach in every aspect of her work.

Nicola has supported children with SEND which has been a significant and rewarding part of her career. She takes pride in creating inclusive, nurturing environments where every child can thrive, feel valued, and reach their full potential. She is motivated by seeing children learn, grow, and develop new skills.

Nicola is also a mother of two and is dedicated, compassionate, and committed to high-quality practice. Nicola is eager to continue developing her expertise while contributing to settings that share her belief in giving every child the best start in life.
 

Jackie
Level 4

Practitioner

Jackie is a dedicated early year’s educator qualified through to Level 4 with many years experience across roles and passion for the sector. She’s a mother of two grown up children who values the relationships built between herself and families and works hard to foster a caring, supportive and enriched environment for all children.

 

She strives to help children settle in and build their confidence, friendships and communication skills with her understanding of children’s learning and development and her interest in Makaton.

Overall, Jackie is empathetic with a nurturing demeanour and has committed herself to supporting all young children as they begin their journey in education at Finch Nest Preschool

Lilly
Level 3

Practitioner

Lilly has had 15 years of experience working with children of all ages. She loves working with children knowing that every day will be different. Lilly enjoys setting up and facilitating exciting activities that enable the children to have fun, exploring various activities that help their development. Children love Lilly’s warm nature and build good relationships with her.

 

Lilly is a happy, bubbly, fun woman who has a beautiful son of her own. Lilly can’t wait to look after every child here and make a positive impact on each and every one of their lives. She is passionate about working with young children and excited to be part of the Finch Nest team.

Rianna
Level 2 

Practitioner

Rianna is a Level 2 qualified practitioner. She is a kind and caring person who loves working with children and watching them develop and learn new things. She understands the importance of encouraging children to explore and learn through play and likes creating exciting learning experiences for them. She enjoys indoor and outdoor learning and watching the children flourish in
their learning environment.

Rianna loves getting to know the children and families at Finch Nest Preschool and will always offer a caring and nurturing approach.
