Our Day

Finch Nest Preschool has sessions available for children from 1 to 5 years old. We are open from Monday to Friday, from 7:30am - 6pm, providing wrap around care for 48 weeks of the year.

 

At Finch Nest Preschool our day is structured into the following key sessions:

 

Breakfast club: 07.30am - 9.00am (breakfast will be provided)

 

Morning Session: Preschool: 9am - 1pm (hot lunch included)

Afternoon Session: Preschool: 12pm - 3pm (hot lunch included)

Late collection option: 3pm - 4pm

 

After school club: 3pm - 6pm (a tea will be provided)

A healthy snack, milk and water will be provided for the children daily.

Amy
BA(Hons)

Manager

Amy is a qualified teacher with 15 years experience, specialising in the Early Years Foundation Stage. She has held Senior Leadership positions, and acted in an advisory role for other early years settings.
 

An expert in phonics teaching, Amy is passionate about early childhood development and provides the children with an education that is centred on nurture and care. Creating an environment that is engaging, fun and child-led is important to Amy and her warm smile and caring nature allow all children to settle quickly and feel valued.

Daniel
BA(Hons) NPQH

Practitioner

Daniel is a qualified teacher with 12 years experience and has recently been Head of a Primary School. Daniel is passionate about creating an accessible curriculum that comes to life for children in his care. He especially enjoys the outdoor learning environment, and engaging in Maths, Music and Physical Education,
activities and play.


Ensuring individual needs are being met is important to Daniel who works closely with the children and their families to achieve the best outcomes. His approachable and friendly nature, helps others to feel reassured.

Julie
HLTA

Deputy Manager
SENDCo

Julie is a qualified HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) who has worked in a local primary school for over 18 years. In addition to her work as a HLTA, Julie held several vital roles including: Family Liaison Officer; Forest School Leader; SENDCo Assistant; ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) Leader; Listening Ear; Breakfast Club Leader; Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

 

Julie has spent the majority of her education career working in Early Years, often leading the Reception class and running interventions for the children.  She enjoys working with the children, supporting those with particular needs and establishing relationships with the families. Seeing the children learning, developing and having fun, in both the indoor and outdoor environments brings Julie so much joy at work.
